A cornerstone of the Parkersburg community for more than 100 years, St. Joseph’s Hospital is a 325-bed regional acute-care facility that serves the people of the Mid-Ohio Valley region, which includes approximately 316,000 people in Ohio and West Virginia.
Founded by the Sisters of Saint Joseph in 1900, the hospital has more than 900 employees, 150 physicians and 190 volunteers. St. Joseph’s was the first hospital in the state of West Virginia to be named one of the nation’s Top 100 Hospitals. The hospital was included in the eighth annual 100 Top Hospitals: Benchmarks for Success in the HCIA Sachs Institute (Solucient).
St. Joseph’s is accredited by The Joint Commission. Home to the regionally renowned Heart Center at St. Joseph’s Hospital, the hospital serves as the only open-heart surgery program within a 90-mile radius. In addition to cardiac services, the hospital provides a full range of medical services.
